Fantastic exposition... have sent this everywhere. Here in Canada there is a censorship in social media so I had to cut and paste it to word processor and sent it it out that way. Got it to Matt Ehret and Cynthia Chung as well as certain politicos here in BC. I noted that in referring to the role of the CIA back in 1949 it is interesting to see that this is when the OSS became the CIA under Anglophile Wall Street banker Allan Dulles.
The state debt of America versus GDP is horrific enough, but I was wondering what is the total debt owed,to private banks in America, when including all sectors, both state and private, given that every USD begins life as an interest bearing debt owed to private banks?
I imagine that would be even more horrific?
Cheers

Hi Iain, I took the easy way out and asked Grok3: "The total debt owed to private banks in America across all sectors (federal, state, local, household, corporate) is approximately $16.8–$20 trillion as of recent data (2022–2025). This includes: ~$1.44 trillion of federal debt.
~$163 billion of state/local debt.
~$8.8 trillion of household debt (mortgages, auto loans, private student loans, credit cards).
~$6.4–$9.6 trillion of corporate debt.
This estimate accounts for the interest-bearing nature of debt created through private bank lending, though not all USD originates this way due to Federal Reserve actions and other holders. The total debt ($93.5 trillion) is ~350% of GDP."
I've read many of Ellen Brown's articles and a half dozen of her books in the past 20 plus years and I think this is her most important article ever, as she covers a topic which is taboo to many journalists but should be crucial to the average American who is struggling to make ends meet, plus. Everyone who understands the growing threat to our basic freedoms from within the US and not from abroad. It's funny, that just yesterday, Ralph Nader interviewed Ben Cohen from Ben and Jerry's ice cream company about our war machine, the Pentagon budget and the good things which could happen with half of the annual Pentagon budget used for the people's and infrastructure benefit on his weekly The Nader Hour which I heard on kpfa.org.
Thank you so much, Ms Brown, for writing this invaluable article, as it is worthy of the highest journalistic awards which I hope you receive!
Thanks. It actually takes me a month to work up an article! I'm trying to write a book as well, and have lots of duties to attend. I don't like to write on things other people have already written about or that seem totally negative without a solution.
Next year is our 250th anniversary. Thomas Jefferson who was there at the start predicted we might last 260 years. But our decline started at 911 and is racing ahead. Even if we stopped pouring money in to the military, we have 65% --no it is not 41%-- who are obese and the fastest "growing " segment is the MORBIDLY obese. The NEW Netflix show about the Biggest Loser TV show is #2. People watch so they fell better about their obesity or they figure everyone is so who cares. So we are cooked and done. At 84 when everyone I knew was the Greatest Generation, I see a nation of fat vulgar phonies.
Yes pretty alarming. Partly I think from a sense of despair -- huge bills and no way to pay them. Might as well break into a six-pack and chips. Junk food is relatively cheap!
The "Great Reset" was unleashed when it was because the Yellow Vests were *winning*. Yes, it was prepared over many years, but they unleashed it ahead of schedule, because they *had to*. Their financial world was falling apart because of years of consolidation and financialization and the mountain of derivatives was threatening to detonate. Their inevitable financial collapse was imminent.
Then they managed to jury rig the economy with "going direct" bail outs for banksters and keeping people quiet with "Covid", but it was rushed out of necessity.
They won't be able to stop the next one. They are just one or two black swans away from having the sovereign immunities removed from their international organizations like the Bank for International Settlements and the UN, then they will be fully exposed.
I think the Internet is what will actually save us. When I was small, my parents only had the radio and local newspaper to learn what was going on. Today we can get news from all over the world, with photos and videos shot by citizen journalists on the ground. People are waking up because we have access to a universe of information.
For sure! No reason for people to be ignorant of current events in this day and age unless it's their preference. The younger generation is our hope and are doing as much as they can to change the system for the better while trying to make ends meet.
Its always a two edged sword, both for the pathocrats and for we the people.
They use it to spread propaganda and fear, but they have to be careful to be credible enough to remain in power, so they have to tell a little bit of the truth here and there. Since we the people outnumber them by about 1,000,000=>1 (no kidding, 8 billion vs. maybe 8,000), there are enough of us to piece together the real truth but it takes a lot of doing, as you know.
It has also greatly accelerated consolidation and financialization, so capital and power becomes concentrated in fewer hands. But as this tool like all other tools becomes more complicated and only manageable by larger numbers of people, it becomes easier for those people to appropriate it, so you see things like open source software etc.
That said, it is good to see mainstream media struggling. They know they are losing control of the narrative, though their influence continues with Google's stranglehold on search and deep state sponsorship of bbc, ny times, wsj, etc. and Big Brother's deep involvement in social media including subs tack.

Amen!

Thanks! Agreed, it's not just the size of the Pentagon budget that is out of control but its rogue controllers and what they are doing with the funds.
I wish you would publish more of your fine work in substack, for those of us who don't really want to go elsewhere....

Thank you the link didn't go thru, I live in SF....

Cell phones/wireless, manmade EMFs/RFs cause obesity, along w/ a long list of other serious health problems.
